Job summary

NYCOA in Manchester, New Hampshire is seeking an experienced Staff Accountant to join our manufacturing team. You will work closely with the Controller on financial reporting, cost accounting, budgeting, month-end close, ERP transition, and day-to-day accounting operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.
• At least 5 years of professional accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong background in cost accounting.
• Experience with ERP systems and ERP implementations or migrations.
• Experience with accounting software; Paychex Payroll a plus.
• Audit experience preferred.
• Strong analytical, organizational and problem‑solving skills; proactive.

Responsibilities

• Support and manage daily accounting activities including billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, treasury, cost accounting, and inventory management.
• Complete monthly financial closings, prepare financial statements, perform account reconciliations, and support cash forecasting and analyses.
• Analyze financial results, identify trends and variances, and provide interpretation to support decisions.
• Partner with production teams to maintain accurate cost accounting information and monitor manufacturing variances.
• Help lead ERP transition from legacy platform and identify process improvements for efficiency.
• Provide guidance across accounting functions and support payroll, billing, credit/collections.
• Coordinate audits and tax filing prep with outside CPA firms; support compliance and lender reporting.
• Develop and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls; coordinate budgeting with department leaders.
