Job summary

Connect Force is partnering with an established industrial equipment manufacturer to hire an Applications & Proposal Engineer in Farmington Hills, MI. This full-time, on-site role blends engineering, sales, and precision manufacturing to shape solutions and win new business.

You'll review customer specs, collaborate with engineering, sales, and manufacturing teams, and prepare proposals with clear scope, pricing, and assumptions. Experience in applications/ proposal engineering is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience in applications engineering, proposal engineering, or related roles.
• Knowledge of machining and industrial machinery.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and interpret technical specifications.
• Detail-oriented in estimates and documentation.
• Engineering degree or equivalent.
• Experience with precision machining or custom machinery is relevant.

Responsibilities

• Review customer specifications, drawings, and RFQ to understand project requirements.
• Collaborate with engineering, sales, and manufacturing teams to develop equipment and process solutions.
• Prepare technical proposals outlining scope, pricing, assumptions, and proposed solutions.
• Develop cost estimates using equipment, tooling, materials, and engineering requirements.
• Communicate with customers and internal teams to clarify specifications and answer technical questions.
• Identify risks, missing information, and opportunities to improve approach.
• Support transition from quotation to project execution by documenting customer expectations and commitments.
