Chroma Technology Corp. in Vermont seeks a Manufacturing Software Engineer to design, implement, and continuously improve software powering our advanced manufacturing processes, including optical coating, simulation, automation, and data analysis.

You will share ownership of a large set of in-house applications, drive project direction, and collaborate across teams to advance our manufacturing capabilities. This role emphasizes leadership and ongoing learning within a value-driven environment.

Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years programming in a Microsoft Windows desktop environment.
• 2+ years programming for hardware automation.
• Experience with AI-assisted software engineering.
• Experience with team development using a code repository system such as SVN or GIT.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and continuously improve software powering Chroma’s advanced manufacturing.
• Lead and share ownership of in-house applications and systems.
• Provide leadership in projects relying on custom software to advance manufacturing capabilities.
• Collaborate across teams and contribute to AI usage and CI/CD tooling.
