Job Summary:
The Manufacturing Site Reliability Engineer Level 1 supports the setup, operation, and maintenance of Linux and Windows infrastructure that enables production line execution. This role is responsible for deploying, configuring, and monitoring systems to ensure reliability, security, and performance, while responding to incidents and maintaining system health.
This position is part of the Engineering Services team, which provides cross - functional technical support to engineering and manufacturing operations. The team works closely with Testing Engineers, Debug Engineers,QualityEngineers,IT,ElectricalandSoftwareEngineers,ProgramManagers,andcustomersto deliver and support Pre - Executable Environment (PXE) infrastructure. This is an onsite role with on - call responsibility for incident response and system support.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Install,configure,andmaintainLinuxandWindowsserversystems,includingOSdeployment and upgrades.
- Setupbootenvironments(PXE,iPXE),diskformatting,cloning,andfilesystem configurations.
- Implementbasicsecurityhardening,includingfirewallconfiguration,patching,andsystem protection.
- Createandmanageuseraccounts,groups,andpermissions(IAM concepts).
- ConfigureandsupportserverstorageandnetworkservicessuchasNFS,DNS,SSH,VLANs,and routing (Layer 2/Layer 3).
- Monitorsystemperformance,uptime,andavailabilityusingstandardmonitoring tools.
- Developandmaintainautomationscripts(Bash,Python)forroutinetasks,includingcronjobs and basic orchestration (e.g., Ansible, Jenkins).
- Assistwithcloudandvirtualizationenvironments,includingvirtualmachines,containers (Docker), and Kubernetes basics.
- DeployandconfigurephysicalPXEserversusedinproductionline environments.
- Troubleshootandresolvehardware,software,andnetworkissuesimpactingsystem availability.
- Coordinatewithcross - functionalteamstosupportsystemsetup,changes,andissue resolution.
- ServeasapointofcontactforPXEinfrastructuresupportandcollaboratewithnetworkingand engineering teams.
- Hands - onexperiencewithLinuxandWindowsserveradministrationinaproductionorlab environment.
- Familiaritywithnetworkingfundamentals(TCP/IP,DNS,VLAN, routing).
- Strongcommunicationskillstoworkeffectivelyinacross - functional environment.
- Abilitytofollowprocedures,workindependently,andmanageassigned responsibilities.
- Willingnesstoworkonsiteandparticipateinon - call rotations.
- CertificationsinLinux,networking,orcybersecurityarea plus.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’sdegreeinEngineering,ComputerScience,orarelatedtechnical field.
- 0–3yearsofexperienceinLinux/Windowssystemadministration,infrastructuresupport,or related technical roles.
- Exposuretoproductionenvironments,serverdeployment,orinfrastructureoperations preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Work is performed primarily on the active manufacturing and production floor environment.
- Ability to lift, carry, and move localized electronic assemblies or inspection tools weighing up to 25 pounds on an occasional basis.
- Ability to stand, walk, and perform mobile floor auditing activities for extended periods as required by patrol schedules.
