Job summary

Rolls-Royce plc in Cypress, CA seeks a Manufacturing Services Technician IV for onsite 1st shift (6:00 AM – 2:30 PM). The senior technician will lead maintenance activities, coordinate daily tasks, and drive equipment reliability across the facility.

You will troubleshoot electrical, pneumatic, and PLC-controlled equipment, interpret schematics, and manage contractor activities with OEMs. A related diploma with 4+ years’ maintenance experience is required.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED with 4+ years of manufacturing maintenance experience, OR Associate’s degree with 3+ years of manufacturing maintenance experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • U.S. Citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident required for consideration.
  • Experience in aerospace or highly regulated manufacturing environments preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily Manufacturing Services activities for first shift and provide technical guidance to the team.
  • Coordinate work assignments and prioritize equipment repairs based on production needs.
  • Manage CMMS activities including work orders, assignments, prioritization, documentation, and closure.
  • Ensure timely execution and closure of corrective and preventive maintenance work orders.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose complex manufacturing equipment, vacuum systems, and PLC-controlled machinery.
  • Read and interpret electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and vacuum schematics.
  • Coordinate with OEMs and vendors for technical support and contractor activities.
  • Source and procure replacement parts and manage critical spares inventory.

Position Summary:

The Manufacturing Services Technician IV is the senior technical resource for Manufacturing Services on 1st shift. You will provide technical leadership, coordinate daily maintenance activities, ensures execution of corrective and preventive maintenance, manages contractors, and drives equipment reliability across the facility. Serves as the primary liaison between technicians, production leadership, engineering, OEMs, and vendors to ensure manufacturing equipment remains safe, reliable, and available to support production.

What you will be doing:
  • Lead daily Manufacturing Services activities for first shift while providing technical guidance to the team.
  • Coordinate work assignments and prioritize equipment repairs based on production needs.
  • Manage CMMS activities including work order creation, assignment, prioritization, documentation (permits), and closure
  • Ensure timely execution and closure of corrective and preventive maintenance work orders.
  • Ensure team compliance with work order execution standards and maintenance procedures.
  • Troubleshoot complex manufacturing equipment, vacuum systems, electrical systems, and PLC-controlled equipment.
  • Read and interpret electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and vacuum schematics.
  • Serve as the primary contact for OEM technical support and coordinate contractor activities.
  • Manage contractor work including scheduling, permits, scope of work, safety expectations, and quality of execution.
  • Source and procure replacement parts and maintain critical spare parts inventory.
  • Communicate equipment status, risks, and priorities to production and site leadership.
  • Develop and improve maintenance processes to increase equipment reliability and reduce downtime.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
  • Mentor and develop level one through three Manufacturing Services Technicians.
Basic Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent or GED (General Educational Development) with 4+ years of manufacturing maintenance experience, OR Associate’s degree with 3+ years of manufacturing maintenance experience
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, word, Excel, and Outlook)
  • In order to be eligible for consideration, you must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident
Preferred Requirements:
  • Supporting aerospace or other highly regulated manufacturing environments.
  • Root cause analysis (RCA), or continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Maintaining and troubleshooting industrial vacuum systems.
  • Strong ability to work independently with minimal supervision while also functioning effectively within a team.
  • Strong leadership and coaching abilities.
  • Ability to create accurate shift reports and communicate equipment status effectively.
  • Experience contacting OEMs for technical support.
  • Knowledge of sourcing and ordering replacement parts and critical spares.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Electrical troubleshooting experience up to 240V.
  • Experience with PLC-controlled equipment, including basic troubleshooting and diagnostics.
Mental & Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to handle the physical demands of the job, including standing, bending, pulling, pushing, climbing, and lifting up to 50 pounds regularly, with team assistance for heavier loads.
