Job summary

Sora Resource Group has partnered with a Fortune 500 global leader in advanced electronic instruments seeking a Business Segment Controller. This hands-on finance leader reports to the Division Vice President of Business Unit Finance and serves as the site finance lead and strategic partner to the business unit manager.

You will oversee financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, costing, inventory, and working capital, with strong emphasis on manufacturing cost accounting, SOX compliance, US

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or Master's degree preferred.
• 7+ years of progressive manufacturing accounting and finance experience.
• 3-5 years of leadership or management experience.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, US GAAP, ASC 606, and SOX 404.
• Product cost accounting, inventory management, and working capital optimization.
• Excel and PowerPoint; experience with Oracle, HFM, and Power BI preferred.
• Public company and M&A experience preferred.
• Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to work independently and meet strict deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting, month-end close, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
• Budgets & forecasts, analyzing revenue, profitability, expenses, and working capital.
• Monitor KPIs, improve productivity, reduce costs, and support product development.
• Oversee product costing, inventory valuation, physical counts, and excess and obsolete inventory reserves.
• Drive working capital improvements across accounts receivable, inventory, accounts payable, and other operating accounts.
• Evaluate capital expenditures & prepare financial analyses, inc: NPV calculations.
• Compliance with US GAAP, SOX requirements, internal controls, & company policies.
• Support internal and external audits and divisional reporting requirements.
