Job summary

Elanco invites students to join the Summer 2027 Manufacturing Scientist/Quality Control Intern program at the Clinton, Indiana plant. You will contribute to the QC Lab, documenting processes and supporting project work that reduces analytical variability.

Interns gain exposure to cross-functional teams, learn about quality control and manufacturing steps, and may receive housing support and potential for future opportunities within Elanco.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, Microbiology, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a similar major.
• Experience in Microsoft Suites and a willingness to learn.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Understand the manufacturing process, document using GMP guidelines, and understand the importance of the Quality Unit.
• Work within cross-functional teams to implement process or Quality Control lab improvements.
• Learn about quality control, fermentation, product recovery, product finishing, or packaging.
• Study design improvement processes.

Your Role: Manufacturing Scientist/Quality Control Chemist Intern - Clinton, Indiana (Summer 2027)

As a Summer 2027 Manufacturing Scientist/Quality Control Intern with Elanco Animal Health, you will be part of the Quality Control Lab team at our Clinton, Indiana manufacturing plant, to deliver a practical solution to reducing analytical variability, a technical project, or implementation of new lab methods. Interns will have exposure to many career paths and diverse subject matter experts as many projects have site-wide impact.

Your Responsibilities:

• Understand the manufacturing process, document using GMP guidelines, and understand the importance of the Quality Unit
• Work within cross-functional teams to implement process or Quality Control lab improvements
• Learn about quality control, fermentation, product recovery, product finishing, or packaging
• Study design improvement processes

What You Need to Succeed (minimum qualifications):

• Education: Currently enrolled in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, Microbiology, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a similar major.
• Top Skills: Experience in Microsoft Suites and a willingness to learn

What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications):

• Must be able to work exceptionally well independently and with minimal supervision

• Travel: 10% - to corporate facility in Indianapolis, IN for opening/closing
