JK Findings, a global jewelry component manufacturer in Rochester, NY, seeks a Safety & Manufacturing Engineer to strengthen plant performance by improving processes while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance. You will design safe manufacturing lines, perform risk assessments, and lead safety initiatives across the facility.

The role requires CAD proficiency, knowledge of machinery controls and PLCs, and familiarity with OSHA standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, or Occupational Health & Safety (or equivalent experience)
• CAD proficiency required
• Familiarity with machinery controls, PLCs, and risk-assessment frameworks
• Knowledge of industrial safety standards; OSHA 511 certification

Responsibilities

• Design and optimize manufacturing lines, tool layouts, and assembly steps with safety integrated into production cycles
• Perform risk assessments and hazard evaluations to prevent accidents
• Ensure compliance with OSHA and local environmental health & safety regulations
• Lead continuous improvement projects to reduce waste, downtime, and variances while protecting operator safety
• Investigate incidents and root causes; implement corrective actions
• Develop or update SOPs, safety manuals, and training; conduct periodic training
• Lead safety team meetings and safety awareness initiatives
