Job summary

Kroger Family of Companies is seeking a Safety Coordinator to drive behavioral safety/BAPP and compliance at the plant, collaborating with associates and management to meet safety goals. You'll model core values while ensuring safe, quality food production in line with SQF 2000 standards and company policies.

You will lead safety data collection, run committees, coordinate JSAs, train staff, and support internal audits. Occasional travel may be required to support corporate safety initiatives.

Qualifications

• Experience in manufacturing environment with safety focus.
• Experience as BAPP Coach or safety team member is a plus.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules and procedures.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Job description

Position Summary:Responsible for coordinating behavioral safety/ BAPP and compliance functions to ensure all safety issues are resolved and all compliance mattersmaintained as prescribed by Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Kroger Technology. Serve as a liaison for manufacturing associates andmanagement in safety-related matters. Involve and assist the entire plant team in meeting individual and plant safety goals and objectives. Perform alljobs safely, efficiently and accurately to maintain and improve the performance of the entire plant in the areas of Safety, Quality, Reliability (SQR) andour Customer 1st strategy. Role model and demonstrate the company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion and safetyof others.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential Job Functions:

• Lead all areas of the behavioral safety and BAPP process flawlessly and consistently.

• Enter and retrieve data, tract observer progress to maintain acceptable contact rate using RINCON software.

• Facilitate Safety Committee and BAPP steering meetings and projects.

• Enter work requests into the EMPAC system and update safety work orders weekly.

• Participate and present data and results in plant-wide and department meetings.

• Prepare all period, monthly and quarterly safety data for submission to departmental diary notes.

• Facilitate or participate in accident investigation.

• Support development and coordinate the completion of all Job Safety Analyses (JSAs); update and maintain as necessary in cooperation with TrainingCoordinator and appropriate managers.

• Conduct and schedule Safety and Observer training for new hires, observers and steering team members as necessary.

• Participate in corporate or OSHA plant safety audits (physical and administrative), and assist in action planning for improved results.

• Apply proven behavioral analysis and problem-solving methods to train associates on each shift to help investigate accidents and remove at-riskbehaviors.

• Follow established programs, policies and practices to produce safe quality foods that meet regulatory and company requirements.

• Support the development, implementation, maintenance, and ongoing improvement of the SQF 2000 Systems.

• Accountable to the Kroger Manufacturing Food Safety and Quality Principles.

QUALIFICATIONS

Desired Previous Job Experience

• Experience in manufacturing environment.

• Previous experience as BAPP Coach.

• Participation on plant safety teams and projects.

• Previous safety compliance experience.

• OSHA 30Hour training.

Minimum Position Qualifications:

• Must be at least 18 years of age.

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.

• Proven leadership skills.

• Ability to interact, present to and work with all levels of the organization.

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating, maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.

• Strong attention to detail, with high degree of accuracy and precision.

• Strong administration, planning, facilitation and organizational skills.

$22.75 - $34.15 per hour
