Job summary

Applied Materials, Inc. is seeking a Manufacturing Quality Manager in Tempe, AZ to lead the manufacturing quality and inspection organization ensuring products meet engineering specs, customer requirements, and ISO/QMS standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Materials Science, or a related technical field, or equivalent relevant experience.
• 10+ years of manufacturing quality or quality engineering experience, preferably in a precision manufacturing environment.
• 5+ years of leadership or people-management experience preferred.
• Strong experience with precision machining, advanced materials, and coating processes preferred.
• Strong knowledge of engineering drawings, GD&T, dimensional inspection, CMM, and precision measurement equipment.
• Experience with ISO 9001, QMS, CAPA, 8D, FMEA, SPC, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement.
• Demonstrated ability to lead complex quality investigations and cross-functional problem-solving activities.
• Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to work effectively with Manufacturing, Engineering, Supply Chain, customers, and suppliers.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Manufacturing quality lead to ensure products meet drawings, specifications, and customer requirements.
• Drive improvement in product quality, first-pass yield, scrap, rework, defect reduction, and customer escapes.
• Partner with Manufacturing and Engineering to identify and resolve quality issues across process and materials.
• Establish and monitor key quality metrics and drive actions when targets are not met.
• Manage inspection activities and ensure criteria meet drawings, GD&T, and customer requirements.
