Quality Inspector

A Quality Inspector, at this level, tests, inspects, and measures products at various stages of production. They compile data to evaluate quality and reliability to ensure product integrity. The primary goal is to work directly alongside production personnel to help maintain the quality standards required by each customer of Allied Plastics.

Job Description

Job Title: Quality Inspector

Pay: $16 - $20 Based on relevant experience

Hours: Three shifts available:

• 1st Shift - 7:00AM - 3:30PM
• 2nd Shift - 3:00PM - 11:30PM
• 3rd Shift - 11:00PM - 7:30AM (Sunday PM - Friday AM)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform daily and random quality control inspections on work in progress and finished goods to ensure conformity to customer or engineering specifications.
• Interpret engineering drawings, work instructions, and process control sheets to define part acceptance and critical characteristics.
• Disposit parts as acceptable or nonconforming based on documentation and reports.
• Conduct 1st/last piece inspections, capability studies, and other quality-related tasks.
• Support production through sorting, containment, and rework when quality issues are detected.
• Utilize ERP system (Epicor) to process and disposition nonconforming materials.
• Use equipment such as tape measures, calipers, micrometers, ultrasonic thickness gauges, spectrophotometers, gloss meters, melt flow testers, etc.
• Maintain organized inspection records and create reports using Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Maintain a clean work area and follow safety rules and regulations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• At least 1 year of quality-related experience
• Manufacturing experience preferred, especially in plastics or thermoforming
• Problem-solving skills and self-motivation
• Ability to stand for 6-8 hours and lift up to 35 pounds
• Comfortable working in a non-climate-controlled environment
