Job summary

Summit Polymers is seeking an Engineer, Quality (Manufacturing) to lead product quality assurance activities across new product development and customer support. The role emphasizes PPAP, PFMEA, control plans, and robust corrective actions to ensure conformance with GD&T and industry standards.

The position involves collaboration with internal operations, supplier quality, and external customers, plus travel to customer sites as needed for containment and corrective actions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering field; 3–5 years automotive quality experience preferred.
• ASQC CQE certification is a plus.
• Experience as Internal Auditor for IATF 16949 / ISO 9001 is a plus.
• Agreement to complete all post-hire required training.

Responsibilities

• Supports new product development with PPAP, PFMEA, Process Flow, and FMEA alignment.
• Ensures compliance with APQP documents and customer quality requirements.
• Reviews drawings (GD&T) and communicates specs for product/process compliance.
• Performs root cause problem solving and corrective actions for quality issues.
• Supports internal quality systems and audits, including IATF/ISO standards.
• Travels to customer locations as required to support containment and actions.
