Job summary

Atlantic Constructors in Virginia is seeking a Manufacturing Quality Engineer to develop, implement, and improve quality systems across production operations. You will serve as a key technical resource for PFMEA, drawings and specification review, statistics, process validation, and continuous improvement initiatives.

You will collaborate with Engineering, Production, Purchasing, and Quality to identify risks, prevent defects, and ensure products meet customer, regulatory, and company

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related technical discipline.
• 3–5 years of manufacturing quality experience.
• Experience developing PFMEAs and Control Plans.
• Experience reviewing engineering drawings and specifications.
• Experience with statistical analysis and process capability studies.
• Experience participating in root cause investigations.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and maintenance of PFMEA.
• Develop and maintain Control Plans and inspection strategies.
• Identify manufacturing and assembly risks before production release.
• Support APQP-style planning activities where applicable.
• Evaluate process changes for quality impact.
• Participate in root cause investigations and corrective action activities.
• Review engineering drawings and specifications for manufacturability.
• Identify conflicts between design requirements and manufacturing capabilities.
• Assess tolerances, inspection requirements, welding requirements, and material specifications.
• Collaborate with Engineering to resolve design concerns before production.
• Conduct statistical analysis of production and quality data.
• Develop and monitor KPIs and quality performance metrics.
• Perform process capability studies (Cp, Cpk).
• Utilize SPC tools to monitor critical processes.
• Analyze nonconformance and defect trends.
• Prepare reports and recommendations for management review.
• Participate in production planning and process development.
• Evaluate assembly processes for efficiency and quality risks.
• Assist in establishing quality checkpoints and hold points.
• Support implementation of new manufacturing methods and technologies.
• Develop process validation methodologies where required.
• Assist in maintaining ISO 9001 compliance.
• Develop quality procedures, SOPs, and work instructions.
• Participate in internal audits.
• Support corrective and preventive action programs.
• Assist with document control initiatives.
• Evaluate supplier quality concerns.
• Assist with supplier corrective actions.
• Participate in customer quality investigations.
• Support third-party inspections and audits.
