Job summary

MSA Safety is seeking a Manufacturing Quality Engineer at our Auburn, Maine facility to ensure robust manufacturing processes and consistent product quality. You will lead root cause analysis, coordinate corrective actions, and apply PFMEA, Control Plans, APQP, PPAP, and Lean tools to reduce scrap and improve capability.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of ISO 9001 and core quality tools (APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plans).
• Ability to apply statistical analysis to drive problem solving and process improvement.
• Strong written and verbal communication and cross functional collaboration.
• Project management skills to lead corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ability to support and sustain manufacturing process changes through change management.

Responsibilities

• Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for plant quality issues.
• Facilitate cross-functional problem solving using 8D, A3, RCA methods.
• Serve as SME in quality tools and Lean practices to reduce waste and variation.
• Monitor FPY and apply data-driven interventions to improve processes.
• Lead Stop Ship/Production actions and coordinate corrective actions.
• Partner with Production and Manufacturing Engineering on process improvements.
• Analyze quality data to identify trends and drive preventive actions.
• Support audits and regulatory/compliance activities.
