Job summary

You will lead structured problem-solving, implement Lean Six Sigma, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to reduce variation and enhance process capability. Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering or related field required.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in manufacturing quality engineering.
  • Structured problem-solving and root cause analysis methodologies (8D, A3, DMAC).
  • Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma experience.
  • Familiarity with PFMEA, Control Plans, process capability analysis, and CI practices.

Responsibilities

  • Apply structured root cause analysis methodologies (8D, A3, DMAC) to investigate and resolve quality issues.
  • Implement and sustain Lean and Six Sigma CI across production processes.
  • Develop and maintain Process Failure Mode Effects Analyses and Control Plans.
  • Monitor KPIs, analyze trends, and drive corrective actions to improve product quality.
  • Lead CI initiatives such as Kaizen events and Schneider Electric Production System activities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance process capability and reduce variation.
  • Support digital quality tools and promote data-driven decision-making in the plant.
  • Prepare and present quality reports, Pareto analyses, and improvement plans.
  • Contribute to customer satisfaction and site quality objectives.

Job description

Schneider Electric is seeking a motivated Manufacturing Quality Engineer to join the team in Mt. Juliet, Tennessee. This role is designed for a professional with experience in manufacturing quality who can drive problem-solving, enhance process performance, and support continuous improvement initiatives. The position focuses on improving product quality, reducing variation, and contributing to operational excellence through data-driven decision-making.

Travel is expected between 10%-20%.

Key Responsibilities
  • Apply structured root cause analysis methodologies, including Eight Disciplines, A3, and Define Measure Analyze Improve Control, to investigate and resolve quality issues.
  • Implement and sustain continuous improvement practices, including Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma, across production processes.
  • Develop and maintain process documentation, including Process Failure Mode Effects Analyses and Control Plans.
  • Monitor key performance indicators, analyze trends, and drive corrective actions to improve overall product quality.
  • Lead and participate in continuous improvement initiatives such as workplace organization, Kaizen events, and Schneider Electric Production System activities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance process capability and reduce process variation.
  • Support the implementation of digital quality tools and promote data-driven decision-making within the plant.
  • Prepare and present quality reports, including Pareto analysis, structured problem-solving documentation, and improvement plans.
  • Contribute to achieving customer satisfaction goals and site-level quality objectives.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field is required.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in manufacturing quality engineering.
  • Strong expertise in structured problem-solving and root cause analysis methodologies, including 8D, A3, and Define Measure Analyze Improve Control.
  • Proficiency in Lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Experience with quality tools such as Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis, Control Plans, process capability analysis, and continuous improvement practices.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively and influence cross-functional teams.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Hands-on experience in manufacturing environments with a focus on quality improvement and defect reduction.
  • Familiarity with International Organization for Standardization standards, process auditing, and statistical analysis tools is considered an advantage.

For this U.S. based position, the expected pay range is USD 86,400 - USD 129,600 per year. This pay range includes base pay and short-term incentives. The compensation range for this full-time position applies to candidates located within the United States. Our pay ranges are determined by reviewing roles of similar responsibility and level. Within the pay range, individual pay is determined by several factors including performance, knowledge, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
