Job summary

Honda is seeking qualified individuals to Lead New Model Quality introduction through strategic planning, management, and cross-functional communication to meet quality targets from concept to mass production.

In this role you will coordinate MQS activities, balance schedule and parts, review drawings with Product Design, and ensure SAP-related quality processes align with plant targets and global standards. Travel up to 10% may be required.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Engineering or equivalent related experience in Quality.
• 5–8 years of experience in quality roles.
• Ability to read/create drawings and use Honda systems (SAP/IMS/AHEAD).

Responsibilities

• Lead New Model Quality introduction from concept to mass production.
• Coordinate MQS control points and KPI tracking with stakeholders.
• Collaborate with Product Design to prevent manufacturing issues.
• Manage SAP-related quality flows (OQ, HAB, MMC Q) and reporting.

Job Purpose

Lead New Model Quality introduction through strategic planning, management, and communication to meet New Model quality targets from concept to mass production. Achieve project EA00’s with high focus on Quality items, including Business Plan target for each factory.

Key Accountabilities

• Support Department Project Lead (PL) by executing & managing the Quality portions of the plan (SAP related to OQ Flow, HAB, MMC Q) - Coordinate New Model Quality activity (weekend & shutdown) with all projects, and track project progress to achieve results.
• Coordinate analysis and countermeasure activity within Department and Purchasing to address gaps to target.
• Compile, summarize and understand project evaluation materials to meet the requirements of the plant evaluations and gain prior department approval & report to PL.
• Work within Department to negotiate MQS Control Points / PQCT and insure they are linked to EQ Specs & Process Operation Standard, while ensuring Production Associate's ability to succeed.
• Lead drawing review and collaborate with Product Design to prevent Manufacuring Issues.
• Support Manufacturing Managment Centre's (MMC) with Quality Manufacturing Plan for onsite Trial Builds, for example supporting himotsuki verification Activity Dan/QC.
• Support MMC execute successful onsite build event activity for dept. in the areas of schedule, parts, associates aligned in the right place, group to group coordination, and plan vs actual reporting (Q-Gate / abnormal handwork).
• Enhance the Standard NM SAP for assigned Model considering previous Model Reflections, New Technology, Future Innovations, and opportunities to improve Department Characteristics (PDCA)
• Maintain regular communication with other facilities to coordinate North American or Global Weld activity and management of associated travel as needed to ensure initiatives and good project flow.
• Develop capability of self, colleagues, and team through training, mentoring, and sharing of experiences in area of technical expertise and understanding for succession planning and team growth.

Qualifications, Experience, And Skills

Minimum Educational Qualifications

• B.S of Engineering or equivalent related experience working in Quality.

Minimum Experience

• 5 to 8 years

Other Job-Specific Skills

• Microsoft Apps (mainly Teams, Excel, Power Point), 3D data (CATIA)
• Able to read/create drawings,
• Honda systems (IMS, CRF, SAP, AHEAD)
• Good problem solving skills.
