Job summary

Trane Technologies is seeking a Quality Engineer to administer the Quality Management System and drive APQP-based process quality across manufacturing teams. You will collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering, Operations, Program Management, NPD, and Supply Chain to plan, execute, and deliver consistently high customer satisfaction.

The role requires 2–5 years in industrial manufacturing quality, PFMEA/Control Plan experience, and strong problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Quality Engineering or similar is required.
  • 2–5 years of quality experience in industrial manufacturing.
  • Experience with PFMEA, Control Plan required.
  • Certified APQP Specialist or CQE preferred.
  • Experience using problem-solving tools (8D, A3, 9 Step SPS) for root cause and corrective actions.
  • Ability to organize tasks and manage multiple assignments; experience leading teams.

  • Own the process quality for the responsible area and drive improvements.
  • Ensure quality at the source through controls and measurements.
  • Lead continuous improvement actions to prevent defects and escapes.
  • Perform internal product and process audits and maintain control plans.
  • Assist with PFMEA updates and support new product launches.
  • Reduce customer complaints and warranty costs; monitor DPPM and Escapes.
  • Support Lean initiatives and problem-solving activities (5S, RIEs, SQDIP).
  • Ensure compliance with BOS and engineering quality standards.

Trane Technologies is hiring a Quality Engineer: This role will effectively administer the Quality Management System and focus on Execution of Process Quality as per Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) requirements in accordance with current procedures and work instructions, and will collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering, Operations, Program Management, NPD, and Supply Chain to plan, execute, and deliver our promise to meet and consistently exceed customer expectations.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Owner for the process quality, improvement and control for responsible area.
  • Owner for ensuring quality at the source for responsible area by utilizing sufficient controls through measurements and other detection methods.
  • Owner for creating and driving the implementation of continuous improvement actions to prevent process defects and/or escapes on a recurring basis.
  • Perform internal product & process audits.
  • Create, maintain, and update Control Plans as well as audit to identify improvements.
  • Assist Manufacturing Engineering in the updating of PFMEAs for product or process changes.
  • Champion the reduction of customer complaints; reduce customer DPPM and warranty costs.
  • Evaluate Drawings and Engineering standards including critical dimensions.
  • Perform data analysis: non-conforming material, Warranty, Escapes, and others.
  • Drive continuous improvement for all elements of the Quality System.
  • Support lean initiatives and Problem Solving (5s, RIE's, SQDIP, MDI, 9 step).
  • Ensure compliance with quality standards and procedures as per BOS and engineering standards.
  • Support the manufacturing assembly and test cells to maximize product quality and reliability.
  • Support the launch of new products through Early Launch Containment planning and support.
  • Support Quality System to make sure all deliverables are met for customer and regulatory body compliance.
  • Serves as internal ISO 9001 auditor.
  • Responsible for keeping updated Method Sheets, visual aids, formats and quality records according to Trane QMS.
  • Ensure the compliance of documentation and improvement following the quality standards, FPY, COPQ, DPPM, Calibration and development of corrective actions with the use of 6-sigma, SPC, strategic A3 and 9-Steps.
  • Support and monitoring of SQDIP / MDI boards.
  • Analysis and monitoring complaints and CARs and SCARs as necessary.
  • May supervise hourly team members in inspection, gauging, metrology, college co-operative students, interns.
  • Manage pressure vessel code compliance programs related to ASME/ PED/ TSSA etc.
  • Drive process continuous improvement projects in line with value stream mapping
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Quality Engineering or similar
  • Minimum 2-5 years of Quality related experience within Industrial Manufacturing environment
  • Experience with Process Flow Chart, PFMEA, and Control Plan required
  • Certified APQP Specialist, or Certified Quality Engineer preferred
  • Experience using common problem-solving tools, preferably 9 Step, 8D, A3 SPS for determination of root cause to drive implementation of corrective and preventive actions for customer complaints and internal issues
  • Ability to organize tasks and manage time to complete multiple assignments simultaneously
  • Experience Leading Teams and managing people

  • Annual Base Salary Range or Hourly Base Pay Range: $75,700.00 - $135,834.99
