Job summary

Honda is seeking qualified individuals to lead and implement innovative technical activities in Mass Production, Business Plan and New Model areas at our Ohio facility.

The role emphasizes data-driven decision making, quality improvement, and collaboration across teams to meet cost, delivery, and safety targets.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor or Associate degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology with relevant experience (Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial or Electrical).
  • 2-8 years of experience based on education.
  • Computer literate to support industry standard software applications.
  • Strong communication and leadership capabilities.
  • Ability to multi-task and solve complex problems through analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, create, and implement innovative technical activities and solutions in Mass Production, Business Plan and New Model areas.
  • Review and analyze daily reports to identify quality gaps and develop countermeasures.
  • Utilize data analysis and PDCA to justify solutions with related groups for your area.
  • Monitor and manage product and processes to ensure quality performance while controlling costs.
  • Develop capability of self, colleagues, and team through training and mentoring.
  • Establish priorities and make data-driven decisions to meet objectives.
  • Manage project implementation, schedule, budget and resources.
  • Test, evaluate, and implement new technologies to improve quality and systems.
  • Manage scrap trends and CSI to achieve quality targets.

Job Purpose

Lead, create, and implement innovative technical activities and solutions in the areas of Mass Production, Business Plan and New Model to efficiently meet or exceed Safety, Environment, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Morale characteristic targets.

Key Accountabilities
  • Effectively communicate upstream and downstream to all levels of the organization to assure common understanding and direction.
  • Review and analyze daily report(s) to identify quality, Quality System Gaps and develop potential countermeasures and /or root cause analysis opportunities striving for continuous improvement.
  • Utilize data analysis and PDCA to lead, support, develop and justify solutions with related groups/departments for your area of responsibility to solve complex problems.
  • Monitor and manage product and processes to ensure optimal Quality performance and function while minimizing operating expense.
  • Develop capability of self, colleagues, and team through training, mentoring, and sharing of experiences in area of technical expertise and understanding.
  • Establish priorities and make decisions based on data analytics to most effectively accomplish business objectives.
  • Manage project implementation, schedule, budget and resource allocations to ensure successful completion and target achievement.
  • Test, evaluate, and implement new and innovative technologies to improve overall quality & quality systems effectiveness.
  • Manage scrap trends, CSI, and NCPD’s achieve overall quality flow and scrap targets.
Qualifications, Experience, And Skills
Minimum Educational Qualifications

Bachelors or Associates degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology with relevant experience (Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial or Electrical, etc) with interest in Manufacturing, if no degree 8 years of experience required.

Minimum Experience

2-8 years of experience based on education.

Working Conditions
  • Work in production environment requiring PPE and lockout in manufacturing operations
  • Manufacturing environment with the potential of working near hydraulic oils, cutting lubricants, ferrous and aluminum materials
  • Hands‑on investigation and troubleshooting within equipment to countermeasure issues and to determine improvement activity
  • Working with hand/power tools, automation equipment, quality gauging and instrumentation
  • 50% office environment/ 50% manufacturing lineside activity
  • 5-15 hours overtime per week possible
  • Possible weekend or off-shift support as necessary
  • Travel 5% (domestic & international)
