Job summary

Netpace Inc in Richmond, CA is seeking a Laboratory Quality Assurance Technician to ensure product safety and compliance. The role requires following SOPs, HACCP and GMP, and working in a fast-paced food safety environment.

You will perform sampling, testing, data entry, and record keeping, coordinate with supervisors, and contribute to continuous improvement while training and supporting shift operations.

Qualifications

  • Minimum bachelor's degree in Food Science, Biology, Microbiology or related science; 2+ years in QA or 6+ years without degree.
  • HACCP certified required; SQF Practitioner preferred.
  • Knowledge of microbiological, physical, chemical and organoleptic testing.
  • Ensure adherence to policies, procedures and workplace safety.
  • Evaluate test results trends and communicate corrective plans to staff and management.
  • Implement quality control processes to meet quality standards.
  • Excellent organizational skills and initiative with flexibility.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Maintain inventory of laboratory and sanitation supplies.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Able to multitask in a fast-paced environment with limited supervision.
  • Proficient with Windows PC software.
  • Lab test equipment maintenance experience.
  • Follow GMPs, GSPs, Food Safety and Occupational Safety guidelines.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Sampling, testing, plating, reading and recording product test results; troubleshoot out-of-spec results.
  • Maintain daily records and documentation.
  • Data entry, tracking and interpretation of results.
  • Follow SOPs and HACCP/quality procedures.
  • Support 5-S initiative to maintain organization.
  • Be flexible with working hours; overtime and some Saturdays.
  • Calibrate and troubleshoot lab equipment.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Meet daily with supervisor to discuss issues in production.
  • Monitor CCP records and communicate findings to production.
  • Coordinate HACCP team activities and product specs management.
  • Ensure GMP, sanitation, safety and regulatory compliance.
  • Inspect and maintain lab inventory and supplies.
  • Demonstrate effective communication to ensure safety, quality and efficiency.

Job description

Location: Richmond, CA 94804

Shift is 1st Monday through Friday Hours are 6am 2:30pm ( While worker is training it will be Monday through Friday Hours are 6am 2:30pm) / Candidate must be flexible for overtime and the occasional Saturday pending on work load.

Is there a possibility this role could be extended? Yes

Candidates will interview with manager over Teams.

Key Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To
  • Responsible for sampling, testing, plating, reading, and recording product test results. Trouble shoot out of spec results.
  • Ensure that daily records are kept and maintained.
  • Data Entry, tracking and interpretation.
  • Following QC Hold Procedures for out-of-specified products.
  • Must possess the ability to follow standard operating procedures (SOP's).
  • Will assist in the discipline to maintain a 5-S rating of an \"A \".
  • Be flexible in working hours.
  • Equipment calibration and troubleshooting.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Participate in continuous improvement.
  • Must meet with the supervisor daily covering any issues associated with production.
  • Monitor all CCP records and frequen have limited work authorization. cies.
  • Follow-up customer complaints and correspond with production.
  • Manage product specifications.
  • Coordinate HACCP team.
  • Maintain policy and implement policies and procedures including training relating to GMP's, Food Safety and regulatory compliance.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to adapt effectively within a continually changing and demanding environment.
  • Must be able to demonstrate an ability and willingness to communicate effectively in order to maintain high levels of safety, quality, and efficiency.
  • Demonstrate ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and duties as they relate to food safety and regulatory compliance.
Qualifications

  • HACCP certified required, SQF Practitioner preferred.
  • Knowledge of Microbiological, Physical, Chemical and Organoleptic Testing.
  • Ensure policies, procedures, and workplace safety are adhered to.
  • Evaluate trends from test results and develop plans to correct deficiencies and communicate these plans to employees, and management.
  • Implement quality control processes/testing to meet the expectations of quality standards and ensure that the product(s) are within specification.
  • Excellent organizational skills with a high degree of initiative and flexibility.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Utilize and maintain inventory on laboratory and sanitation supplies.
  • Good oral/written communication skills.
  • Able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with limited supervision.
  • Proficient in window-based PC programs.
  • Lab Test Equipment/Maintenance.
  • Must follow current Good Manufacturing Practices, Good Sanitation Practices, Food Safety and Occupational Safety.
