Civil Recruit is seeking a Manufacturing QA Technician I for the San Leandro Milk Plant. The role involves routine inspections of raw materials, in-process goods, and finished products to ensure GMP compliance and food safety.
Shift is 1st, 6am to 2:30pm, Monday through Friday; overtime and weekend work possible; possibility to convert to full-time after assignment. You will document results, report non-conformances, and support root-cause investigations.
QA Technician Inspector, San Leandro Milk Plant, 200 Adams Avenue, San Leandro, CA 94577. 1st Shift 6am - 2:30pm, Monday through Friday. Candidate needs to be open to overtime and weekend work when needed. Is a possibility this assignment will be extended? Yes, there is a possibility this assignment could extend before the 8 weeks is up. Is there a possibility this assignment could convert to full time? Yes. Candidate will need to interview with manager either via facetime or zoom.
Conduct routine inspections of raw materials, work-in-process, and finished products.
Perform visual inspections and quality testing using established procedures.
Monitor production processes to ensure adherence to GMPs policies and procedures.
Document inspection results accurately and maintain quality records.
Identify and report non-conforming materials, products, or processes.
Assist with root cause investigations and corrective/preventive action activities.
Place products on hold when quality concerns are identified and support disposition decisions.
Conduct line checks, weight verification, label verification, code date inspections, and packaging audits.
Verify employee compliance with food safety, quality, and hygiene standards.
Escalate quality and food safety issues to leadership as appropriate.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
1-3 years of experience in a QA, QC, food manufacturing, or production environment preferred.
Working knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), food stafety standards, sanitation procedures, and quality systems.
Abiltity to perform visual inspections, product evaluations, and routing quality records.
Ability to enforce and verify complaince with food safety, quality and employee hygiene standards.
Strong attention to detail with the ability to recognize and elevate quality or food safety concerns in a timely manner.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast paced manufacturing environment.
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform inspections throughout the production area for extended periods.
