Job summary

Thermo Vac, located in Oxford, MI, seeks a detail-oriented Purchasing Agent to support daily procurement in a fast-paced manufacturing facility. You will issue RFQs, create POs, and ensure materials, subcontract services, and MRO supplies are delivered on time to support production schedules.

You will collaborate with Engineering, Production, and Accounting to ensure accurate purchasing and timely material flow, maintaining inventory accuracy and supplier communication.

Qualifications

• Manufacturing purchasing experience required.
• Experience using MRP/ERP systems (Epicor a plus).
• Ability to read technical drawings and weld symbols.
• Strong organizational and follow-up skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Review purchasing requests, drawings, and specs to determine sourcing.
• Generate RFQs and purchase orders using MRP/ERP software.
• Obtain and compare supplier pricing, lead times, and delivery options.
• Purchase outsourced components and fabrication services.
• Monitor open purchase orders and ensure timely delivery.
• Verify receipt of materials against POs.
• Maintain purchasing data in the ERP system.
