Job summary

Plasma-Therm LLC is seeking a Technical Buyer to procure materials, parts, equipment, and services for Manufacturing and Customer Service. You will issue POs, prepare RFQs, and manage supplier relationships to support production schedules and quality goals.

The role emphasizes evaluating quotes, selecting sources, and maintaining vendor relations while mentoring junior buyers and tracking KPIs within a cleanroom/manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business or related discipline preferred.
• Experience with Machine to Print and Fabricated Components a plus.
• Proficient in MRP systems and computer-based programs such as Excel, Word, Project, etc.
• Ability to interpret blueprints, drawings, or other technical material.
• Ability to communicate effectively with suppliers and customers.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Ability to access and manipulate system MRP data for reporting and tracking purposes.
• Ability to effectively negotiate terms of sale to meet schedule and pricing objectives.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and issues POs on complex or specialized parts to support production schedules.
• Prepares and issues RFQs and inputs information into MRP system.
• Places orders, sources supply, evaluates quotes and delivery schedules.
• Qualifies new vendors to mitigate single-source risks.
• Contacts vendors regarding adjustments, delivery problems, and corrective actions.
• Maintains knowledge of product lines and applications.
• Mentors less experienced buyers.
• Monitors KPIs and daily/ weekly/ monthly metrics for the supply chain.
