Job summary

Express Employment Professionals - Cincinnati East seeks an experienced Purchasing Manager to oversee purchasing activities, supplier relationships, and material requirements to support manufacturing operations. You will negotiate with vendors, manage purchase orders, and ensure timely delivery to support production schedules.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in manufacturing procurement, strong negotiation skills, and excellent communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience in manufacturing or supply chain.
• 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Strong understanding of purchasing and supply chain management.
• Excellent vendor negotiation and relationship-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Negotiate with vendors to secure pricing, quality, and lead times.
• Process purchase requisitions and order requirements.
• Manage supply chain activities to support production schedules.
• Create, track, and expedite purchase orders to ensure materials arrive on time.
• Maintain communication with suppliers regarding availability, lead times, and delays.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and improve profitability.
• Assist with receiving purchased materials and services and maintain records.
• Monitor status of open purchase orders.
• Build and maintain supplier relationships and evaluate performance.
• Develop new vendors to strengthen the supplier base.
• Assist with closing jobs in preparation for shipment to customers or vendors.
• Support Shipping and Receiving with transportation selections.
