Job summary

SpecSys is seeking a Project Manager to lead manufacturing projects from start to finish, serving as the primary contact for customers and coordinating schedules to meet predefined timelines during the prototype manufacturing phase.

The role requires knowledge of raw materials, manufacturing processes, BOM/MRP usage, and strong communication across Engineering, Operations, Sales, Quality, and Clients. Expect 30–50% time on the shop floor as projects progress.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of raw materials and manufacturing processes.
• Ability to work with urgency and meet deadlines.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Blueprint reading competency.
• Strong communication across Engineering, Operations, Sales, Quality, and Clients.
• Understanding of BOM usage and MRP systems.
• Comfortable with rapid change.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean and organized work environment
• Responsible for all project documentation
• Research fabrication, welding, painting and assembly questions and relay answers to shop floor
• Coordinate delivery of outsourced components with Purchasing to ensure timely delivery
• Act as primary contact for customers during manufacturing
• Monitor progress against timelines and report changes/ECOs to management
• Create shop floor work orders and BOM structures reflecting material assignments
• Ensure DXF files are created for laser and burn tables
• Spend 30% to 50% of time on the shop floor
