Position Overview

Caterpillar's Earthmoving Division is hiring a Global Component Quality Lead within the Manufacturing Center of Excellence (CoE) in Peoria, IL. Known also as Manufacturing Project Engineer, this role leads global collaboration with internal component partners to improve quality standards for machine assembly, field performance, and defect resolution. Responsibilities include developing quality control processes, ensuring compliance, and executing improvement projects.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Collaborate Globally: Work with product groups, operations, and supply partners to meet quality targets, solving issues and fostering continuous improvement.
  2. Manage Processes: Develop and monitor quality assurance strategies to ensure product compliance.
  3. Manage Metrics: Track and visualize key quality metrics, driving corrective actions to meet goals.
  4. Coach Teams: Provide training on quality systems and tools such as QRWB, Additive, BIQ, and others.
Desired Skills and Experience
  • Knowledge of quality management tools and creating quality-focused environments.
  • Understanding of manufacturing best practices, standards, and safety.
  • Experience in risk management, root cause analysis, lean manufacturing, project management, influencing, and problem solving.
Minimum Education Requirement
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, supply chain management, or related technical field.

  • Location: Peoria, IL
  • Up to 10% travel; domestic relocation assistance available; sponsorship not available.
Compensation & Benefits

Salary range: $126,000 - $189,000. Benefits include health coverage, 401(k), HSA, FSA, paid time off, bonuses, and more, subject to eligibility.
