Friday Workforce Solutions in Rutherfordton, NC is seeking a Project Engineer in Manufacturing / Plant Engineering to drive capital projects, install equipment, and support continuous improvements in a fast-paced production environment.

You will coordinate projects, manage vendors, troubleshoot mechanical and electrical systems, and ensure safety compliance, while partnering with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable operations.

Qualifications

  • BS Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline required.
  • 3–8 years of experience in manufacturing, industrial engineering, plant engineering, or project engineering environments.
  • Experience supporting capital projects, manufacturing equipment installations, or facility improvements.
  • Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems; industrial automation and PLC-controlled equipment.

Project Engineer JD (Manufacturing / Plant Engineering)
Position Summary

This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys a combination of hands‑on manufacturing support, capital project coordination, equipment installation, and continuous improvement initiatives within a fast-paced production environment. The Project Engineer will play a key role in supporting plant engineering projects, facility infrastructure improvements, manufacturing equipment integration, and operational reliability efforts.

We are looking for a motivated engineering professional with strong technical problem-solving skills, project coordination experience, and a proactive mindset who is eager to grow into broader engineering and leadership responsibilities over time.
