Join our Supply Chain Operations team — manage inventory, procurement, and more! The Procurement team strategically manages our acquisition of goods, services, and raw materials to ensure operational efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and quality. We go beyond transactional purchasing to drive value through vendor relationships.
The Manufacturing Production Planner maintains inventory and production plans that support customer demand and operational efficiency. This role analyzes demand, inventory trends, production requirements, supplier lead times, and material availability to ensure needed materials and products are available at the right time while minimizing excess inventory and carrying costs.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, monitor, and adjust replenishment and production plans to support manufacturing schedules, customer special orders, service levels, and inventory targets.
- Review demand, material requirements, safety stock, reorder points, supplier lead times, and forecast accuracy to identify replenishment needs and data anomalies.
- Release, expedite, reschedule, or defer work orders and transfer orders to maintain balanced inventory and production flow.
- Partner with production, procurement, inventory control, warehouse, customer service, and demand planning teams to resolve shortages, constraints, and supply disruptions.
- Analyze stockouts, excess and aging inventory, slow-moving items, inventory turns, fill rates, and forecast variance to identify trends and recommend action.
- Maintain accurate planning parameters in GAINS and inventory management systems, including minimum and maximum levels, lot sizes, lead times, order multiples, and safety stock.
- Support new product introductions, product changes, phase-outs, and discontinued item planning to reduce obsolete inventory.
- Prepare planning reports, dashboards, and exception summaries, and lead improvements that increase material availability, reduce working capital, and strengthen planning processes.
Basic Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Two years of experience in inventory planning, replenishment, production planning, procurement, materials management, or manufacturing operations.
- Experience using ERP, MRP, inventory management, or warehouse management systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including analyzing large data sets, identifying trends, and developing actionable recommendations.
- Understanding of manufacturing processes, bills of material, lead times, safety stock, reorder points, and inventory control practices.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, escalation risks, and follow through on action plans.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate or bachelor's degree in supply chain, business, operations management, logistics, or a related field.
- Experience working in a high-mix, fast-paced environment that supports make-to-stock, make-to-order, and lean manufacturing.
- Experience balancing service levels, production needs, supplier constraints, and inventory investment using data.
- Continuous improvement mindset with a focus on process discipline, accuracy, and efficiency.
