Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of production workflows, WIP management, scheduling, and order fulfillment.
  • Proficiency with Oracle or comparable ERP and Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and reporting tools.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills; attention to accuracy.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop Production Control Specialists, setting clear expectations and supporting consistent performance across the team.
  • Oversee daily work-in-process and open-order activities to maintain accurate priorities, job status, shipment commitments, and workflow continuity.
  • Coordinate with Manufacturing, Planning, Logistics Operations, Customer Experience, CAD/CAM, and other partners to resolve scheduling, delivery, and production constraints.
  • Ensure accurate use and maintenance of Oracle WIP, Order Management, WMS, Salesforce, the Open Order Tracking System, and related production-control tools.
  • Escalate and resolve complex WIP, interface, job-creation, and order-flow issues, partnering with IT on service requests, testing, and production implementation as needed.
  • Establish and monitor standard work, reports, service levels, and key performance indicators to improve visibility, accountability, and customer delivery performance.
  • Drive process improvements that reduce errors, delays, rework, and manual effort while strengthening data integrity and cross-functional communication.
  • Support the Production Control Director with staffing, training, workload planning, operational reviews, and execution of department priorities.

The Production Control team manages the flow, accuracy, and visibility of work-in-process across manufacturing. The team partners with Manufacturing, Planning, Logistics Operations, Customer Experience, CAD/CAM, and IT to support customer shipment commitments, resolve production issues, and improve operational workflows.

The Production Control Manager is responsible for directing the daily work and development of Production Control Specialists. Reporting to the Production Control Director, this role ensures consistent execution of production control processes, timely resolution of order and system issues, accurate operational reporting, and continuous improvement across manufacturing workflows.

Key Responsibilities

Basic Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in production control, manufacturing operations, planning, logistics, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience leading people, projects, training, or day-to-day team activities.
  • Working knowledge of production workflows, work-in-process management, scheduling, and order fulfillment.
  • Proficiency with Oracle or a comparable enterprise resource planning system and Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and reporting tools.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with close attention to accuracy and follow-through.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills with the ability to build effective cross-functional partnerships.
  • Ability to organize competing priorities, respond to changing business needs, and maintain accountability in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 3 + years of experience in production control or manufacturing operations, including formal supervisory or people-leadership responsibility.
  • Advanced knowledge of Oracle WIP, Order Management, and WMS modules, including interface management, troubleshooting, and system testing.
  • Experience developing operational reports, performance measures, standard work, and process-improvement initiatives.
  • Proven ability to coach employees, manage change, and influence partners at multiple levels of the organization.
