Job Description:

The Manufacturing Product Engineering Manager is responsible for leading a team of product engineers and manufacturing professionals to successfully introduce, manufacture, and sustain products throughout their lifecycle. This role serves as the primary interface between R&D, New Product Introduction (NPI), Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Quality, Test Engineering, and external manufacturing partners to ensure successful product launches, operational excellence, superior quality, cost competitiveness, and continuous improvement. The manager drives strategic and tactical execution across multiple product lines while developing organizational capability and delivering business performance objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of product engineering and manufacturing professionals, typically overseeing 8-15 direct reports.
• Own product engineering activities across multiple product lines, ensuring achievement of key business metrics including quality, cost, delivery, inventory, yield, and customer satisfaction.
• Partner with R&D, NPI, Supply Chain, Quality, Reliability, Test Engineering, and factory operations teams to successfully transition products from development into high-volume manufacturing.
• Coordinate and lead internal and outsourced manufacturing partners throughout the entire product lifecycle, from New Product Introduction through end-of-life.
• Drive root cause analysis and resolution of product quality, reliability, yield, and manufacturing issues.
• Evaluate customer feedback, manufacturing data, test results, and quality metrics to identify improvement opportunities and implement corrective actions.
• Lead product sustainment initiatives, including cost reduction programs, yield improvement projects, and manufacturing process optimization.
• Represent product engineering and manufacturing operations in cross-functional business reviews, product escalations, and strategic planning discussions.
• Ensure delivery of products and services that meet performance expectations established by business and senior leadership.
• Drive operational excellence through Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Proactively identify operational risks and implement mitigation strategies to maintain continuity of supply and manufacturing efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with corporate policies, regulatory requirements, and quality management systems.
• Influence strategic decisions by providing technical, operational, and business recommendations to leadership.

People Leadership Responsibilities

• Hire, develop, coach, and retain a high-performing engineering and operations team.
• Establish performance objectives, conduct performance reviews, and support employee career development.
• Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
• Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and guidance to team members.
• Allocate resources effectively to meet product, operational, and business priorities.
• Build organizational capability through succession planning and talent development.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related technical field
• Advanced degree preferred.
• 4-6 years of experience in manufacturing, product engineering, operations, supply chain, or related disciplines.
• Advanced English Level.
• Demonstrated experience supporting new product introduction and product lifecycle management.
• Demonstrated people leadership experience, including direct management of employees and team development.
• Experience working with global manufacturing operations and outsourced manufacturing partners preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Competencies

• Strong understanding of product engineering, manufacturing operations, and product lifecycle management.
• Expertise in manufacturing processes, quality systems, product validation, and engineering problem-solving methodologies.
• Strong analytical, quantitative, and data-driven decision-making skills.
• Experience utilizing engineering tools, statistical analysis, and manufacturing performance metrics.
• Knowledge of hardware, electrical, and mechanical product development and manufacturing processes.
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives in complex global environments.
• Excellent project and program management skills.
• Strong business acumen with the ability to balance technical and operational priorities.
• Exceptional communication, presentation, influencing, and negotiation skills.
• Ability to effectively engage with engineering teams, senior leadership, customers, suppliers, and manufacturing partners.
• Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Strong multitasking, prioritization, and organizational skills.
• Understanding of regulatory compliance requirements and corporate operational policies.
