• Understanding of design, materials, tolerances, and manufacturing methods.
• Proficient in MS Office and CAD tools (SolidWorks or equivalent).
• Advanced English language proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Drive mechanical value engineering initiatives focused on cost reduction, quality improvement, and manufacturing efficiency.
• Support fabrication technologies including sheet metal, machining, die casting, plastic injection molding, extrusion, and mechanical assemblies.
• Collaborate with contract manufacturers, ODMs, and fabrication suppliers to optimize processes and reduce costs.
• Identify tooling, material, and process improvements to enhance quality and lower costs.
• Analyze manufacturing, supplier, and field quality data to identify improvement opportunities and corrective actions.
• Participate in root cause investigations and drive closure of corrective actions.
• Support qualification of new suppliers, processes, tooling, and components.
• Assist supplier audits and manufacturing assessments with cross-functional teams.
• Communicate technical recommendations and business cases supporting cost reduction.

Job Description

The Associate Mechanical Value Engineering Engineer is responsible for driving mechanical cost reduction, manufacturability improvements, supplier optimization, and quality enhancements across new and existing products. Working closely with Mechanical Design Engineering, Supply Chain, Manufacturing Operations, Supplier Quality, and external fabrication partners, this role develops high-value mechanical solutions that improve product quality, manufacturability, reliability, and cost competitiveness.

The engineer supports both new product introduction (NPI) and sustaining products by applying Design for Manufacturability (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), and Design for Value (DFV) principles across a broad range of mechanical fabrication technologies. The role serves as a key technical interface between engineering, manufacturing, and suppliers to ensure robust production processes and continuous product cost reductions throughout the product lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive value engineering initiatives focused on mechanical cost reduction, quality improvement, and manufacturing efficiency.
• Support fabrication technologies including sheet metal, machining, die casting, plastic injection molding, extrusion, and mechanical assemblies.
• Collaborate with contract manufacturers (CMs), original design manufacturers (ODMs), and fabrication suppliers to optimize manufacturing processes and reduce product costs.
• Identify tooling, material, and process improvement opportunities that improve quality and lower total product cost.
• Analyze manufacturing, supplier, and field quality data to identify improvement opportunities and corrective actions.
• Participate in root cause investigations of product, assembly, and process failures and drive closure of corrective actions.
• Support qualification of new suppliers, manufacturing processes, tooling, and mechanical components.
• Support supplier audits and manufacturing assessments in partnership with Supplier Quality and Supply Chain organizations.
• Communicate technical recommendations and business cases supporting cost reduction and manufacturing improvements.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related engineering discipline.
• Typically 2-5 years of experience in Mechanical Manufacturing Engineering, Value Engineering, Product Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience working with mechanical fabrication processes and manufacturing environments.
• Understanding of mechanical component design, materials, tolerances, and manufacturing methods.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools and CAD systems such as SolidWorks or equivalent.
• Advanced English Level

Knowledge, Skills, And Competencies

• Strong understanding of mechanical manufacturing processes and fabrication methods.
• Ability to evaluate product designs for cost, manufacturability, quality, and scalability.
• Strong analytical and root cause problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of supplier development, process qualification, and manufacturing validation.
• Ability to analyze yield, quality, and cost data to drive improvement actions.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills across engineering, operations, and supplier organizations.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently while contributing to cross-functional teams.

Travel

• Up to 10% domestic and international travel may be required to support manufacturing partners, suppliers, audits, and product launches.
