Job summary

BlueScope Buildings North America, Inc. seeks a Manufacturing Process Manager I to oversee plant manufacturing functions with a focus on safety, quality and cost reduction. You will lead a production team, coach staff, and drive continuous improvement across operations.

Ideal candidates have 5 years in manufacturing and 3 years in leadership, with welding exposure preferred. Proficiency in MS Office and spreadsheets is required to produce accurate reports and documentation.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 5 years of manufacturing experience and 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Preferred: background in steel industry with welding experience.
  • Proficiency with technology and MS Office; able to create and manage spreadsheets, reports, and documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Manage Compass shipping, scheduling, and delivery.
  • Report on weekly forecast tons and hours.
  • Communicate quality changes, inspections, drawings, root cause and corrective action.
  • Understand tolerances and fabrication requirements.
  • Create process goals and monitor efficiency.
  • Administer inventory control.
  • Mentor new hires and employee department transfers.
  • Ensure all inspections are complete.
  • Maintain employee work schedules in payroll system.
