Job summary

MECALUX’s Melrose Park Corporate HQ is seeking a Continuous Improvement Engineer to elevate manufacturing quality, efficiency, and plant performance in fabrication and assembly operations. The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Master’s preferred), and fluency in both English and Spanish.

You will lead root-cause analyses, develop practical solutions, and train plant workers to ensure ISO 9001-compliant quality checks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering is required; Master’s degree preferred.
• Fluency in English and Spanish.
• Strong analytical and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work across levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Drive continuous improvement efforts in the plant in terms of quality (e.g., eliminating waste, reducing process variation, increasing production throughput, and improving manufacturing processes).
• Develop and implement solutions that improve the quality and efficiency of the various manufacturing processes in fabrication and assembly operations.
• Prepare manuals and train plant floor workers in the use of new forms, reports, procedures or equipment, focusing training on correct quality check procedures, root cause analysis and corrective action using ISO 9001 certification criteria.
• Utilize technical skills and operational experience to develop technical solutions for production problems that involve methods, equipment, material replenishment, process controls, error-proofing, overall equipment effectiveness, etc.
• Ensure plant layout is suitable for an efficient manufacturing process.
• Review, study, follow, and implement plans and solutions to the production process while conferring with management.
• Act as a liaison between plant leads, plant workers, and management to accomplish the production objectives set forth by company vision.
• Maintain records of production suppliers essential for the production process and review delivery records to confirm quality requirements were fulfilled.
