Job summary

Celestica is seeking an Engineer, Manufacturing Process in Portland to design, develop, deploy and optimize manufacturing processes for quality, cost and delivery goals. You will collaborate across product launches, create line layouts, and implement lean-driven improvements.

The role involves translating customer specs into factory processes, developing test fixtures, and driving ongoing improvements to electromechanical assemblies. Strong collaboration and project management are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience with manufacturing of complex industrial equipment.
• Knowledge of IPC-620 and ISO-9001 quality standards.
• Experience utilizing Lean methodologies and tools.
• Excellent customer relations and problem resolution skills.
• Ability to design tests, evaluate results and recommend improvements for electromechanical assemblies.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and coordinate changing deadlines.
• Effective communication with internal and external customers.
• Works autonomously with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Interface for new product launches, collaborating with design engineering or customers.
• Create and maintain manufacturing methods, sequences, and processes.
• Design manufacturing line layouts guided by Lean principles.
• Identify process problems and implement solutions to stabilize or improve processes.
• Create assembly work instructions and checklists.
• Participate in selecting new manufacturing equipment.
• Translate customer specs into usable manufacturing data and activities.
• Develop metrics to drive quality improvements.
• Develop test processes and fixtures to automate testing.
• Drive continuous improvement on existing lines.
• Document factory activities needed for manufacturing/testing.
• Define and address root causes of throughput/quality issues.
