Job summary

The Manufacturing/Process Engineer in Decorah, Iowa will develop, maintain, and improve production processes to strengthen stability, safety, and efficiency. You will partner with Operations, Quality, Maintenance, and Supply Chain to deliver repeatable manufacturing results.

Responsibilities include leading process improvements, supporting capital projects, documenting standard work, and coaching teams through Kaizen events while applying Lean, Six Sigma, and process validation practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Manufacturing, Industrial, Mechanical, or related field) required.
• 4–7 years of hands-on manufacturing or process engineering experience in a production environment.
• Experience with lean manufacturing and capital projects.
• Strong knowledge of process capability, cycle time analysis, scrap reduction, and efficiency metrics.
• Proven experience developing and maintaining detailed work instructions and process documentation.
• Hands-on with production teams and effective cross-functional communication.
• Travel up to 15% to support business needs.

Responsibilities

• Support daily manufacturing operations by monitoring process performance and addressing issues.
• Develop, document, and maintain work instructions, process flows, routings, and standard work.
• Analyze production data to identify process improvement opportunities.
• Implement process changes to improve safety, quality, efficiency, and throughput.
• Lead capital project initiatives including equipment selection, installation, and startup.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, and related methods.
• Lead root cause analyses and implement corrective actions.
• Collaborate with Operations, Quality, Maintenance, and Supply Chain.
• Support process validation, capability studies, and acceptance testing.
• Document updates after capital projects and train operators.
