Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; Associates degree in technical discipline preferred.
• 2+ years of machine or mechanic experience.
• One year First Solar technical experience.
• Six months as Temporary Manufacturing Engineering Technician at First Solar.

Responsibilities

• Solve day-to-day production, equipment, and process problems.
• Identify and implement yield and product performance improvements.
• Develop methods to assign causes to yield excursions.
• Set up and maintain gauges.
• Ensure all processes are running on target per the Process Control Plan.
• Respond to SPC process control alarms and bring processes back into control.
• Execute planned process experiments, collect data and report results.
• Collect data relating to daily tool performance and product performance.
• Provide training to production associates.
• Develop and update internal documentation including drawings, SOPs and process specifications.
• Interface with internal associates and supplier representatives to complete projects.
• Understand area processes, equipment, and support systems.
• Maintain effective communication with production teams.
• Disposition non-conforming product per established criteria (NCP).
• Adhere to safety procedures and housekeeping standards.
• Manage waste containers and hazardous waste according to policy.
• Other duties as assigned.
