Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required with additional technical criteria.
• Associates degree in a technical discipline is acceptable.
• 2+ years of machine or mechanic experience as a primary function.
• One year of First Solar technical experience.
• Six months as Temporary Manufacturing Engineering Technician at First Solar.

Responsibilities

• Solve day-to-day production, equipment, and process problems.
• Identify and implement yield and product performance improvements.
• Develop methods to assign causes to yield excursions.
• Set up and maintain gauges.
• Ensure all processes run on target per the Process Control Plan.
• Respond to SPC process control alarms and restore control.
• Execute planned process experiments and analyze results.
• Collect data on daily tool and product performance.
• Provide training to production associates.
• Develop/update internal documentation and specifications.
• Interface with internal teams and supplier reps as needed.
• Understand area processes, equipment, and support systems.
• Maintain effective communication with production staff.
• Disposition non-conforming product per established criteria.
• Follow safety procedures and housekeeping standards.
• Manage hazardous waste containers and waste disposal per policy.
• Adhere to duties as assigned; role may evolve.
