Job summary

Andersen Corporation is seeking an Engineer I to support a Renewal by Andersen manufacturing line in Cottage Grove, MN. The role focuses on monitoring, controlling, and improving existing processes to meet customer and business needs.

The ideal candidate will apply lean design techniques, lead technical assignments, and develop training materials while driving continuous improvement and maintaining safety and ergonomic standards on the shop floor.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical/Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering or equivalent engineering experience.
• 2+ years of engineering experience preferred with mechanical aptitude.
• Strong problem-solving skills and lean manufacturing knowledge.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with quality systems and statistical methods is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Optimize manufacturing system performance using lean process design techniques.
• Plan, organize, and lead technical aspects of large-scale projects.
• Create SOPs and training materials for production processes.
• Assess design viability for new or existing processes.
• Facilitate cross-functional Kaizen events and process design sessions.
• Drive corrective actions using root cause analysis.
• Collaborate with Safety to meet safety requirements.
• Assess ergonomic conditions and provide practical solutions.
• Present and advocate continuous improvement to value stream teams.
• Stay current with industry technology and apply to Andersen products.
• Provide operational technical support for existing processes.
• Ensure built-in quality via DMAIC tools (FMEA, DOE, etc.).
