Nesco Resource is seeking a Manufacturing Process Engineer for a client in Westfield, MA. The engineer will plan and coordinate manufacturing processes for complex assemblies, requiring a comprehensive understanding of CAD and engineering drawings. Successful candidates will have a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering and significant manufacturing experience.

  • Perform troubleshooting of processes and manage gage calibration.

Job description

Nesco Resource is in search of a Manufacturing Process Engineer for one of our clients based in Westfield, MA.

SUMMARY:
The Manufacturing Engineer will develop manufacturing processes planning and coordinate the production of complex machined, mechanical and welded assemblies. Must be able to understand customer requirements, specifications and evaluate machine part and assembly engineering drawings to understand the processes to produce the part. Develop machining and assembly processes, operation sheets and tooling. Recognize customer quality and inspection requirements. Must have a comprehensive understanding of CAD and working with CAD drawings. Must have experience with engineering drawings, specifications, GD&T and close tolerance manufacturing processes.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Plan, direct and coordinate manufacturing process planning and inspection reports for all orders.
  • Coordinate all paperwork such as certifications, process control sheets, inspection reports and job closeouts.
  • Daily meetings with Production Control to ensure all tooling and process documentation are correct for operators.
  • Formulate and implement gage calibration and inspection report system.
  • Troubleshoot various processes and disposition deviant material.
  • Design and implement gauging methods as part of inspection report system.
  • Coordinate major projects to improve key performance metrics.
  • Communicate with team members, customers and management.
  • Periodically perform engineering CAD work using SolidWorks.
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with at least 5 years of manufacturing experience in a machining environment.
  • Experience working in an ISO 9000 environment.
  • Strong computer skills; experience with Vericut and ERP systems such as Epicor, E2 Shop Floor Control, SAP, Syteline or Infor VISUAL.
  • Hands-on experience with SolidWorks a plus.
  • CNC programming experience with Mastercam or NX a plus.
  • Strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, people-oriented environment.
  • Willingness to do what is necessary to complete projects, satisfying customer needs.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
  • Direct hire with excellent benefits
  • 1st shift, Monday – Friday (onsite); core hours 7am – 4:30pm; occasional Saturday (once every 2 months)
  • Salary range: $90 – $120K
  • Must pass drug and background screenings
