The role supports production readiness, consistent quality, operational efficiency, and cross-functional process improvement across current and future manufacturing programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, qualify, document, and continuously improve manufacturing processes, work instructions, and operating procedures.
  • Troubleshoot process and equipment issues using structured root-cause analysis; implement and verify corrective and preventive actions.
  • Support equipment specification, vendor coordination, installation, commissioning, qualification, and production ramp-up.
  • Improve yield, throughput, uptime, cycle time, material utilization, and manufacturing cost using measurable performance indicators.
  • Establish and maintain process parameters, control plans, sampling methods, and production data records.
  • Apply statistical analysis, SPC, DOE, and process capability methods to identify variation and improve repeatability.
  • Collaborate with R&D, production, quality, maintenance, and supply-chain teams to transfer new products and processes into reliable manufacturing.
  • Assess process changes for safety, quality, performance, cost, and schedule impacts; maintain appropriate change-control documentation.
  • Train and support operators and technicians; promote safe work practices, disciplined execution, and continuous improvement.
  • Prepare clear technical reports, communicate project status, and support customer or internal technical reviews as appropriate.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Materials, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
  • At least 5 years of hands‑on manufacturing or process engineering experience in a production environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot manufacturing equipment and improve process performance with data.
  • Experience developing production documentation, training personnel, and collaborating across technical and operations teams.
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, communication, and project execution skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with advanced materials, battery or energy‑storage products, chemical processing, converting, or other high‑volume manufacturing.
  • Experience with continuous production equipment, material handling, mixing, coating, web handling, or automated manufacturing systems.
  • Familiarity with PFMEA, Lean, Six Sigma, equipment qualification, and manufacturing scale‑up.
  • Experience working with equipment suppliers and supporting pilot‑to‑production technology transfer.
What Success Looks Like (First 6–12 Months)

  • Raise (line/process) yield from X% to Y% and reduce unplanned downtime by Z%.
  • Complete control plans, PFMEAs, and work instructions for all assigned processes, and train operators on them.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
  • Work is split between a manufacturing floor and an office; approximately 60% of time is on the production floor.
  • Regularly stand and walk for extended periods; bend, reach, climb ladders or platforms, and work around operating equipment.
  • Lift and carry up to 35 lbs occasionally; heavier items are moved with mechanical assistance or a team lift.
  • Wear required personal protective equipment, which may include safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, safety footwear, and respirators.
  • Exposure to moderate‑to‑high noise, fine powders, and industrial chemicals handled under established safety procedures.
