Job description

Maintenance Technician — LiCAP Technologies, Inc.

About LiCAP
LiCAP Technologies is a Sacramento-based manufacturer of advanced energy storage electrodes and ultracapacitors. Our patented Activated Dry Electrode® (ADE®) process makes battery and ultracapacitor electrodes without toxic solvents, so production is cleaner, cheaper, and more scalable. We’re a team of about 45 people building a new high-volume production line in Sacramento. This role will help bring that line online and keep it running.

The Role
You’ll keep our production equipment running safely and reliably. That means fixing breakdowns, running preventive maintenance, and helping install new equipment as we grow. It’s a hands-on, mechanically focused role for someone who likes figuring out why a machine isn’t working and getting it back up.

What You’ll Do

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on production equipment, including roll-to-roll calenders, powder handling and mixing systems, slitters, winders, and assembly equipment
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems, including bearings, gearboxes, rollers, belts, chains, pumps, and seals
  • Perform shaft and roller alignment, lubrication, and component rebuilds
  • Maintain facility support systems such as compressed air, dust collection, chillers, and dry room equipment
  • Help vendors and engineers install and commission new equipment
  • Keep PM schedules, work orders, and spare parts inventory organized
  • Follow and promote lockout/tagout and general safety practices

What You Bring

  • 3+ years of hands-on mechanical maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting
  • Strong troubleshooting skills on mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment
  • Ability to read mechanical drawings, parts diagrams, and equipment manuals
  • Comfort with hand tools, power tools, precision measuring tools, and basic fabrication
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for long periods, and work at heights

Nice to Have

  • Basic electrical skills, such as motors, sensors, and reading simple schematics
  • Experience with VFDs or PLCs
  • Welding or machining experience
  • A battery, coating, converting, or roll-to-roll manufacturing background
  • Experience with cleanrooms or dry rooms
  • A trade school certificate or industrial maintenance training

What We Offer

  • Competitive hourly pay plus overtime
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • 401(k) plan
  • Paid time off and holidays
  • A chance to help build and own a brand-new production line at a growing clean-tech manufacturer
