Job summary

3M in Aberdeen, SD is seeking a Manufacturing Process Engineer to lead plant engineering efforts and drive continuous improvement across processes and quality systems. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to evaluate scope and equipment needs, while managing projects from inception to completion.

The role requires a manufacturing/process engineering background, strong technical skills, and the ability to travel up to 10% domestically or internationally. Relocation may be authorized.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in an Engineering discipline (completed and verified prior to start).
  • Prior experience working within a manufacturing and/or process engineering environment.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated strength in engineering/technical skills.

  • Provides engineering leadership to the Aberdeen plant and establishes a network of resources to meet business goals and customer needs.
  • Utilizes technical skills to evaluate project scope, equipment specifications and other requirements.
  • Leads and participates in continuous improvement projects focused on process, product, and quality system improvements.
  • Organizes and executes projects using project management skills.
  • Supports site resources with process improvements.
  • Drives understanding of customer needs and monitors process capabilities.
  • Reports project implementation, cost and status to appropriate person.

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in an Engineering discipline (completed and verified prior to start)
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Chemical Engineering
  • Prior experience working within a manufacturing and/or process engineering environment
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams
  • Demonstrated strength in engineering/technical skills

Work location: Aberdeen, SD

Travel: May include up to 10% domestic/international

Relocation Assistance: May be authorized
