Job summary

Trane Technologies in La Crosse, WI, is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for 2nd shift to operate innovative systems and develop sustainable production processes. You will work with cross-functional teams to improve quality, safety, and efficiency in manufacturing operations.

The role requires manufacturing experience; MIG/TIG welding and PFMEA experience are preferred. Degree in engineering or welding disciplines is encouraged, with emphasis on practical skills and leadership principles.

Responsibilities

• Provide timely resolution of manufacturing process and product design problems.
• Be subject matter expert in weld processes within the plant engineering group.
• Create cost-effective and safe manufacturing processes, equipment, and tools.
• Design manufacturing flow lines, layouts, and controls to optimize efficiency and quality.
• Uphold standards including machine capability, process maps, and cycle times.
• Generate work instructions and standardized work to ensure quality at the source.
• Partner with EHS to ensure equipment meets safety regulations.

Join Trane Technologies as a Manufacturing Engineer-2nd shift in La Crosse, WI! In this role, you will operate innovative engineered systems and develop, coordinate, and implement sustainable manufacturing production processes. Your cross-functional team will be focused on delivering quality, safety, and operational efficiency improvements.

What you will do:

• Provide timely resolution of manufacturing process and product design problems, including investigations, statistical studies, and corrective action planning.
• Be the subject matter expert in weld processes within the plant engineering group.
• Create cost-effective and safe manufacturing processes, equipment, and tools to improve manufacturing operations.
• Design manufacturing flow lines, workstation layouts, and station controls that optimize efficiency, operating costs, and product quality.
• Uphold manufacturing standards including machine capability, process maps, set-ups, quality controls, tooling and fixture records, routings, and cycle times.
• Generate work instructions, job breakdowns, and standardized work to ensure quality at the source meets product and manufacturing specifications given local needs.
• Serve as a voice of the customer for input for new design development.
• Partner with on-site EHS (Environment, Health, and Safety) to ensure all equipment meets safety regulations compliant with OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration).

What you will bring:

• Previous experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with MIG or TIG welding preferred.
• PFMEA experience preferred.
• Ability to accurately assess manufacturing issues related to process and design.
• Effective communication at multiple levels coupled with ability to build relationships.
• Growth mindset – desire to expand technical skillset.
• Results-driven to maintain accountability and customer-focus.
• Degree preferred in Engineering or welding technical disciplines. Candidates without a 4-year degree are encouraged to apply; we prioritize practical experience, relevant skills, and alignment with our leadership principles.

Annual Base Salary Range or Hourly Base Pay Range:

$84,740.00 - $118,860.00 Compensation Type: Salary Incentive Eligible: No Sales Commission Eligible: No Disclaimer: We strive to provide competitive compensation for this position, tailored to a variety of factors.
