Job summary

Senneca is seeking an energetic Plant Controller to own the plant P&L and balance sheet, partnering with the Plant Manager to identify risks and opportunities. The role supports a secondary Cincinnati facility, with monthly travel to that location. Local candidates in the Mankato region are preferred.

Ideal candidates have direct manufacturing plant controller experience, strong cost accounting and budgeting skills, and a track record of improving financial processes in a manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience with intercompany transactions and reconciliation.
• 3+ years accounting/finance experience, preferably in manufacturing.
• Direct Manufacturing Plant Controller experience preferred.
• ERP implementation experience a plus.
• Experience partnering with facility management for continuous improvement.
• Working knowledge of tax filing and tax compliance at state and federal levels.
• Demonstrated leadership and ability to coach facility leadership on financial performance.
• Experience in budget creation for a facility.
• Understanding of financial data security and confidentiality policies.
• Proficiency with MS Office and finance applications.

Responsibilities

• Reconciling sub-ledger to general ledger balances.
• Assessing internal controls and risk areas.
• Monthly balance sheet, income statement, and budget variance analyses.
• Assist in designing and preparing budgets for management review.
• Maintain and reconcile fixed assets schedules.
• Prepare financial status and transaction reports, including P&L statements.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Create SOPs for accounting policy and procedures.
