Job summary

Cleveland-Cliffs has an immediate opening for a Planner in the Manufacturing Planning Department at our Butler Works facility. You will develop and maintain production schedules, collaborating with cross-functional teams to resolve scheduling challenges and support efficient operations.

Responsibilities include daily scheduling for Butler and Zanesville units, coordinating interplant material movement, and ensuring adherence to QSOP/TWI requirements while supporting trials in development groups.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in logistics or supply chain.
• Experience with planning systems and production scheduling.
• Strong math and computer skills and cross-functional communication.

Responsibilities

• Develop daily steel making production schedules for operating units in Butler and Zanesville plants.
• Coordinate material movement (interplant and intraplant) to meet schedule.
• Monitor actual vs. planned production, material movement, and shipments.
• Communicate and distribute production plans, schedules, and material expediting requirements.
• Assist in determining operating turns, timing for changeovers, outages, and delays.
• Apply materials to orders following rules and quality requirements while meeting delivery commitments.
• Assist other Manufacturing Planning associates in daily tasks.
• Ensure unit schedules align with QSOP/TWI requirements and ongoing trials.

Cleveland-Cliffs has an immediate opening for a Planner within the Manufacturing Planning Department at our Butler Works facility. This position is responsible for developing and maintaining production schedules while collaborating with cross-functional teams to resolve scheduling challenges and support efficient operations.

Summary of Responsibilities:

• Develop daily steel making production schedules for operating units which include facilities in the Butler and Zanesville plants
• Coordinate material movement (both interplant and intraplant), operations and planning to accomplish schedule
• Monitor actual vs. planned production, inter/intraplant material movement and shipments
• Communicate and distribute information to others such as production plans, unit schedules, material movement plans, and material expediting requirements
• Assist in determining the number of operating turns required, timing requirements for unit changeovers, outages, and delays
• Apply material to orders following application rules and quality requirements while meeting delivery commitments established for customer service
• Assist other Manufacturing Planning associates in a cooperative manner on daily job tasks
• Assure unit schedules align with all current QSOP/TWI requirements as well as trials being conducted by research or product development groups
• Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or other Business-related field or equivalent experience
• Detailed knowledge of automated and manual planning systems
• Advanced computer and math skills
• High level ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization
• Willingness to work evenings/weekends on a rotating basis

Preferred Qualifications:

• Basic knowledge of plant operations, material flow, production capabilities/capacities and product attributes/requirements
• Three (3) years related to manufacturing planning
