Responsibilities

  • Build production schedules to support on-time delivery.
  • Manage work-in-progress inventories.
  • Coordinate with Sales, Operations, and Accounting on planning and expediting orders.
  • Use Excel and SQL Server to retrieve, filter, and validate data.
  • Generate standard daily/weekly/monthly reports.
  • Provide data-driven insights and propose actions.
  • Support monthly and annual production forecast planning.
  • Automate repetitive Excel tasks and maintain automated reports.
  • Assist with company-wide delivery improvement initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as needed.

As a Manufacturing Planning Analyst Intern at Cleveland-Cliffs, the projects assigned will vary based on the intern’s education level and plant location, but will generally reflect the duties outlined below.

Summary of Responsibilities
  • Building production schedules to support customer delivery expectations
  • Management of WIP inventories
  • Work closely with Sales, Operations management, and accounting in the planning/scheduling of operating units and expediting of customer orders
  • Utilize Microsoft Excel and Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio to find, retrieve, filter, and validate data
  • Populate and issue standard daily/weekly/monthly reporting
  • Provide analysis from various aspects of the operation that can take extreme detail, and create a story with themes that clearly show issues and required actions
  • Support the monthly and annual production forecast planning process
  • Automate work currently done manually in Excel and utilize the task scheduler application to maintain existing automated reports
  • Support the company-wide delivery improvement initiative
  • Various other duties as needed to support the business
