Job summary

Lockheed Martin Rotary and Mission Systems is seeking a detail‑oriented production planning specialist for onsite work in Moorestown, NJ. The role focuses on MRP BOM planning, inventory optimization, and material flow to meet tight production schedules.

You will coordinate with engineering, procurement, and shop floor teams, ensuring accurate lead times, effective lot sizing, and timely delivery of procured parts. A US citizenship and interim secret clearance are required.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree (or coursework) in Production Management, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, Business, or related technical field – or comparable on‑the‑job training related to material and inventory management.
• 0‑1year of experience (or internship/co‑op) in production planning, shop‑floor support, scheduling, logistics, or a related manufacturing environment.
• ERP Exposure: Introductory familiarity with an ERP/MRP system (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics).
• Analytical Ability: Comfortable with production data and inventory information; able to identify simple trends.
• Lean Awareness: Basic understanding of Lean or continuous‑improvement concepts and willingness to apply them on the shop floor.
• Communication: Strong written and verbal skills for coordination with engineering, procurement, quality, and shop‑floor teams.
• Excel Skills: Proficient with medium to advanced Excel functions (sorting, filtering, formulas, pivot tables, VLOOKUP).
• Inventory Fundamentals: General knowledge of inventory control concepts like safety stock and reorder points.
• Work Style: Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain attention to detail.
• Team Orientation: Collaborative mindset; eager to work across functional groups to support production goals.
• Security/Eligibility: Must be a U.S.Citizen and able to obtain the required government security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Performs Make, Buy and / or BOM planning activities related to MRP transactions.
• Maintains production systems integrity to drive inventory optimization and cost minimization.
• Expedites and optimizes material flow through the supply chain to meet customer requirements.
• Co-ordinates with manufacturing and Operations Management to provide shop floor control on make parts and manage schedule.
• Co-ordinates with Supply Chain stakeholders to determine time-phased plans for procured parts and ensure timely deliverables.
• Maintains MRP parameters including lead times and lot sizes and coordinates BOM changes.
