Job description

Anduril Industries is a defense technology company with a mission to transform U.S. and allied military capabilities with advanced technology. By bringing the expertise, technology, and business model of the 21st century’s most innovative companies to the defense industry, Anduril is changing how military systems are designed, built and sold. Anduril’s family of systems is powered by Lattice OS, an AI-powered operating system that turns thousands of data streams into a realtime, 3D command and control center. As the world enters an era of strategic competition, Anduril is committed to bringing cutting‑edge autonomy, AI, computer vision, sensor fusion, and networking technology to the military in months, not years.

About The Team

Anduril’s Manufacturing Technology, Maritime Team is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer, Maritime Systems. The Maritime Manufacturing Technology Team is responsible for rapidly developing and implementing manufacturing technologies and processes for cutting-edge defense hardware, including deployable static and moving surface, undersea and sea to air vehicles and scaling these products in our new manufacturing facilities.

About The Job

As a Manufacturing Planner, you will own the critical bridge between engineering design, supply chain, and shop‑floor execution for our advanced autonomous systems. In this role, you will be responsible for defining the operational sequence of how we build hardware at scale. You will direct the creation and maintenance of detailed manufacturing plans, build and optimize MES routings, manage BOM structures, and ensure that technicians have clear, repeatable work instructions compliant with rigorous customer standards (including NAVSEA). You will play a pivotal role in turning broader functional plans into actionable processes, managing configuration changes, and maintaining production schedules within established timelines and budgets.

What You’ll Do
  • Manufacturing Planning & Execution: Direct the creation and maintenance of comprehensive manufacturing plans, oversee the translation of complex 2D/3D engineering drawings into clear work instructions, and optimize operational process routings in our MES.
  • Bill of Materials Management: Own the strategy for creation and maintenance of the MBOM and as‑built configuration management, ensuring accurate translation from the EBOM.
  • Production Scheduling & Prioritization: Partner with Operations, Quality, and Supply Chain to establish build sequences, monitor order flow, and make sequencing and allocation decisions to support production ramp‑up.
  • Engineering Change Coordination: Manage engineering changes across active manufacturing plans, assessing impact on active MES routings, work‑in‑progress, and hardware delivery timelines.
  • Cross‑Functional Alignment: Serve as a primary interface between Design Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality, and Production Operations to align on goals, resolve line blockers, and meet delivery commitments.
  • DFX Producibility Input: Collaborate upstream with design teams during DFM and DFA reviews to ensure assembly sequences, build procedures, and routings are optimized for cost, quality, and scalability.
  • Continuous Improvement: Analyze manufacturing discrepancies, scrap, and operational process data using first‑principles problem‑solving and root‑cause analysis to enhance production efficiency and yield.
  • Shop‑Floor Support: Provide hands‑on manufacturing planning support directly on the floor during New Product Introduction (NPI), prototype builds, and rate ramp‑ups.
Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in manufacturing planning, production planning, or production control within a complex electromechanical or hardware manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in a NPI environment, transitioning complex products from design into sustained, high‑rate production.
  • Demonstrated expertise in creating and maintaining MBOMs, building process routings, and translating EBOM structures.
  • Hands‑on experience with MES and Product Data Management (PDM) software.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting complex engineering drawings, technical specifications, and process maps.
  • Proven track record of navigating aggressive timelines, resource trade‑offs, and prioritization decisions to support delivery commitments.
  • Must be a U.S. Person due to required access to U.S. export‑controlled information or facilities.
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • Direct experience in the maritime, naval, or aerospace defense industry, with an understanding of associated quality and documentation standards (e.g., NAVSEA, MIL‑SPEC).
  • Hands‑on experience with ERP systems (such as Oracle) for material and production planning.
  • Experience with CAD and PLM software (e.g., Siemens NX, Teamcenter) and issue‑tracking platforms (e.g., JIRA).
  • Understanding of statistical process control (SPC), capacity planning, and lean manufacturing principles.
