Boeing Defense & Space (BDS) is currently looking for an Associate-Level Manufacturing Planner to join the Patriot Advanced Capability 3 (PAC3) team located in Huntsville, Alabama. This unique position supports the production rate increase and advanced technology upgrade activities, including production support and continuous development projects improving manufacturing.
Position Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and optimize manufacturing processes and planning.
- Collaborate with the manufacturing engineering team to review manufacturing build flows for planning producibility.
- Create and maintain manufacturing work instructions.
- Identify and resolve manufacturing issues to improve product quality and production efficiency.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce waste, improve cycle times, and enhance overall manufacturing performance.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
- Develop, implement and maintain various manufacturing plans, Bills of Materials, work instructions and illustrations to define and document as-built configuration.
- Assist with development and integration of suppliers, processes, materials, data and technology to meet manufacturing and delivery requirements.
- Assist in reviewing supplier data to ensure manufacturing related requirements are met.
- Identify tooling requirements and initiate tooling orders based on manufacturing and engineering requirements.
- Assist in tooling dispositions.
- Investigate and resolve manufacturing related issues of limited scope.
- Assist with producibility assessments for part or product designs.
- Assist in providing input to design, manufacturing processes and manufacturing technologies to meet cost and schedules.
- Develop work statements and sequencing of events to support delivery commitments.
- Assist in the review, maintenance and monitoring of internal documents.
- Work under general supervision.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)
- 3+ years of experience in manufacturing planning and production support.
- Experience in CAD software and manufacturing simulation tools.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and project management skills.
- Experience reading, interpreting, and enforcing standardized manufacturing processes, work instructions, and engineering drawings and process procedures.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)
- STEM-focused associate’s degree.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to present complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
- Competent in Model-Based Design.
- Competent in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing.
- Competent in MESci or similar manufacturing system.
- Competent in Material Resource Planning (MRP) Systems (e.g., CompassContract).
- Experience in CAD software suites.
- Experience in Windchill or similar engineering management databases.
- Experience with Siemens Teamcenter.
Pay and Benefits
Pay Rate Range: 30.38 - 35.38 USD hourly
