Job summary

Dynamet, a Carpenter Technology Company, is seeking an Assistant Department Manager to support frontline supervisors across multiple shifts, ensuring safe, efficient operations and alignment with quality and safety objectives within a world-class manufacturing environment.

You will lead Production Supervisors, mentor staff, manage weekly schedules (vacation/overtime), and drive continuous improvement with TPM, RMR analysis, and data-driven reporting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 8+ years in manufacturing supervisory or management with multiple direct reports.
• Strong experience in production scheduling, manpower planning, and process flow coordination.
• Deep knowledge of manufacturing systems, TPM, SPC and cost-reduction initiatives.
• Proven ability to lead projects, mentor staff and develop training materials.

Responsibilities

• Support manufacturing operations aligned with organizational goals.
• Lead Production Supervisors; evaluate performance and provide training.
• Mentor staff and develop process/operator training materials.
• Conduct RMR and SPC analysis to drive improvements.
• Develop weekly operations schedules, including vacations and overtime.
• Maintain knowledge of manufacturing systems, material flow, and process control.
• Review production schedules and ensure efficient material flow.
• Collect production records and coordinate interdepartmental processes.
• Lead small projects; create reports, charts, and graphs with recommendations.
• Evaluate new equipment and maintenance technologies.
