Job summary

Saint-Gobain Abrasives is seeking a production operator to support machine operation, data entry, reporting, and routine maintenance. You will follow work orders and safety protocols, aiming to minimize waste while ensuring product quality.

The role requires reading orders, SPC awareness, and strong teamwork within a crew environment. The position emphasizes accurate reporting, adherence to safety checks, and the ability to stand, bend, and lift up to 25 pounds within a 7:00 AM–3:30 PM shift,

Qualifications

• Read, interpret, and perform production functions according to work orders and specifications presented on computer screen and/or in hard copy.
• Possess a working knowledge of math concepts including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals, and percentages.
• Possess a working knowledge of statistical process control analysis.
• Possess basic computer data entry skills.
• Ability to read and interpret work orders and perform reporting functions.
• Ability to demonstrate oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability and willingness to work in a team-oriented work group.
• Possess a working knowledge of basic mechanical functions including preventative maintenance, machine adjustments, etc.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment during start-up, production run, and shutdown as part of a crew.
• Perform computer operations to obtain order information and changes.
• Maintain accurate and timely reporting functions.
• Conduct minor maintenance to keep continuous operations.
• Aim for high quality with minimum waste and follow safety guidelines.
• Read and follow work orders and specifications; ensure supplies are available.
• Collaborate effectively with team to meet quality, production, safety, and waste reduction goals.
• Perform safety checks and maintain a safe workspace for all crew members.
